AffiliateWP Allow Own Referrals Addon v1.0.2 is an extension designed to enhance the functionality of the AffiliateWP affiliate management plugin. This addon allows affiliates to earn commissions on their own referrals, meaning affiliates can earn a commission if they refer themselves or make purchases through their own affiliate links.

Product Overview

The AffiliateWP Allow Own Referrals Addon empowers affiliates to generate commissions on purchases they make through their own affiliate links. This feature introduces a unique dynamic to affiliate programs, allowing affiliates to be rewarded for their own product usage and engagement.

Modern Design and User Experience

While this addon focuses on functional enhancements, it seamlessly integrates with the existing AffiliateWP design and user interface. Affiliates will find the familiar layout and workflows, making the experience intuitive and user-friendly.

Main Features and Capabilities

The core feature of this addon is the ability for affiliates to earn commissions on their own purchases. This is particularly beneficial when affiliates may want to purchase products for personal use or to review, and still be rewarded for their marketing efforts. The addon also offers:

• Fully Integrated with AffiliateWP: The addon works seamlessly with AffiliateWP, leveraging its existing affiliate tracking system and integrating directly into the affiliate dashboard. This ensures smooth tracking and reporting of commissions earned from own referrals.
• Referral Tracking: Just like other referrals, purchases made by affiliates through their own links will appear in the affiliate’s referral report. This allows both the affiliate and the admin to track the commissions earned from their own referrals.
• Customizable Settings: Store owners retain control over this feature through the AffiliateWP settings. They can choose to allow or disallow affiliates earning commissions on their own purchases globally or on a per-affiliate basis, providing flexibility in managing the program.

Responsive Design

Since this addon operates within the AffiliateWP ecosystem, it inherits the responsive design principles of the parent platform. This ensures the addon functions flawlessly across various devices, providing a consistent experience for both affiliates and administrators.

Benefits of the AffiliateWP Allow Own Referrals Addon

• Increased Sales for Your Store: Affiliates who know they can earn commissions on their own purchases may be more likely to buy more products and promote them more actively.
• Enhanced Affiliate Program Flexibility: The addon adds a unique layer to your affiliate program, accommodating a broader range of affiliate needs and behaviors, such as employees, loyal customers, or influencers.
• Encourages Product Reviews: Affiliates who earn commissions on their own purchases are more likely to provide honest product reviews, create content (like unboxing videos, blog posts, or social media promotions), and genuinely engage with your product line.
• Better Tracking and Transparency: Commissions from own referrals will be tracked and reported alongside other referral data, ensuring transparency for both affiliates and store owners.

How to Use the AffiliateWP Allow Own Referrals Addon

1. Install and Activate the Addon: Download and install the addon from the AffiliateWP website. Ensure AffiliateWP is already installed and active on your WordPress site.
2. Enable the Addon: Navigate to the AffiliateWP Settings page in your WordPress dashboard and locate the "Allow Own Referrals" settings. Choose whether to allow all affiliates or specific affiliates to earn commissions on their own purchases.
3. Set Limits or Restrictions (Optional): You can set limits on how often affiliates can earn commissions from their own referrals. For example, you may limit the number of purchases an affiliate can make using their own affiliate link within a given timeframe. Apply additional restrictions to control potential abuses.
4. Track Own Referrals: Affiliates can generate affiliate links and make purchases using those links. These purchases will be tracked automatically, and the affiliate will earn a commission. You can monitor these referrals through the Affiliate Dashboard and referral reports.

Compatibility

• WordPress: Fully compatible with the latest version of WordPress.
• AffiliateWP: Works seamlessly with AffiliateWP and integrates well with other AffiliateWP add-ons.
• eCommerce Platforms: Works with eCommerce platforms like WooCommerce and Easy Digital Downloads, ensuring affiliates can earn commissions on their own purchases within those systems.

Conclusion

The AffiliateWP Allow Own Referrals Addon is a valuable tool for businesses seeking to enhance their affiliate programs. By allowing affiliates to earn commissions on their own purchases, you create a unique incentive structure that fosters deeper engagement, loyalty, and product promotion.

If you're running a WooCommerce store or a digital product business and want to provide a richer affiliate experience, the Allow Own Referrals Addon is a great choice.
