How It Works:

HTML Structure:
- The menu is created using an unordered list (<ul>), with each list item (<li>) representing a menu item.
- Submenus are nested within <ul> tags inside their respective parent <li>. These submenus are initially hidden by the CSS (display: none).
CSS Styling:
- The main menu items have padding and background colors to make them visually distinct.
- The submenu items are hidden by default using display: none and are revealed when their parent menu item receives the .active class.
- The .active class also changes the background color and text color of the menu item to indicate it is active.
jQuery Functionality:
- When a user clicks on a menu item (<a>), the jQuery script prevents the default action (which would follow the link) and toggles the parent <li> element's .active class.
- If the parent <li> is already active, the submenu is collapsed by removing the .active class. If it's not active, the .active class is added, causing the submenu to expand.
- The script ensures that only one submenu is open at a time by removing the .active class from all other menu items.
