Pirate Barrel is a fun “don’t make the pirate jump” party game built with HTML5 / Construct 3, played in full 3D. A grumpy little pirate hides inside a wooden barrel ringed with colorful swords. Take turns pushing one sword into the barrel — but beware: one of the 16 slots is a secret trap, and the player who pushes the wrong sword makes the pirate leap out of the barrel and loses the round! Challenge the Computer AI offline, play locally with a friend on the same device, or compete against another player in an Online Multiplayer match. Whoever pushes the secret trap sword loses the round, and the other player wins. Starting the Game: Choose a game mode from the main menu and watch the short intro as the box opens and the barrel appears. Player 1 (or “You”) takes the first turn, and the status text always tells you whose turn it is. Taking a Turn: Tap one of the colorful swords sticking out of the barrel to push it in. If it is a safe sword, it turns grey and the turn passes to the other player. Drag left or right on the screen to spin the barrel and find the swords hiding on the other side. The Secret Trap: At the start of every round one of the 16 slots is randomly chosen as the trap. Nobody knows which one it is — not even the Computer AI! Push the trap sword and the barrel swells, the pirate jumps out and you lose. Winning: The player who makes the pirate jump loses the round. The winner earns a point on the win counter, and you can tap PLAY AGAIN to start a new round with a new random trap. Game Modes: The game features three different ways to play: VS Computer — Play against the Computer AI without an internet connection. The AI turns the barrel, takes its time to “think” and then pushes a sword of its own. 2 Players — Two players take turns on the same device, no internet connection required. Play Online — Compete against another player in a real-time online match. The game automatically finds an opponent, and both players see the same barrel, the same trap and the same turns on their own device. VS Computer: Play against the Computer AI without requiring an internet connection. The AI acts as your opponent, so you can practice or enjoy a full match anytime. 2 Players: Two players share the same device and take turns pushing swords. No internet connection is needed for this mode. Online Mode: Choose Play Online and the game connects to a room and waits for another player. Once an opponent joins, the match starts automatically. The barrel rotation, the chosen swords and the secret trap are synchronized between both devices, and each player sees their own “YOU WIN!” or “YOU LOSE!” result. Note on Online Multiplayer: Online Multiplayer is powered by Construct 3’s built-in Multiplayer plugin and, by default, uses Construct’s free public signalling server to connect the two players — so it works out of the box, with no extra setup required to play as described above. However, please note that online multiplayer features in general are services that depend on an external network layer, and going beyond this basic setup — for example, more reliable connections on restrictive networks, player accounts, private rooms, matchmaking, leaderboards, or supporting a large number of concurrent players — often requires setting up an additional external backend, such as Firebase or Photon. These services typically involve ongoing subscription or usage-based hosting costs that are not included with this item and are the responsibility of the buyer/end user if they choose to add or scale up such features. VS Computer and 2 Players modes work fully without an internet connection and do not require any backend service. The project is built with Construct 3 and is designed to be exported as HTML5. The game can be played on PC, mobile devices, and tablets.
